Dear all,

Hope you've had - and still have - a good summer.

We've been touring some in UK lately.

The album Revl9n "Revl9n" is out in France and there's been a couple of singles out too.

I think you're all aware that Simian Mobile Disco and Sebastian made a great remix of "Walking Machine" on a 12". It sold like hot cakes.

There is a bunch of "Someone Like You" releases including Free Form Five and Freaks remixes both on CDs and 12". They should be available in all good record stores.

The album will be launched in UK on September, the 25th, and we will do another UK tour in October.

There are more things in the pipeline, naturally, but will get back when things are a bit more definite.

Best wishes,
Revl9n

Dear all,

Sorry for the long absence. Revl9n have been busy with loads of things. So busy that we actually forgot to inform you about coming gigs. We've played Paris twice since I last wrote. It was great. Sorry.

At last! At last!

There will be some rekids coming out. First one out this week – a 12" with two "Walking Machine" mixes – this time it's Simian Mobile Disco and SebastiAn who've laid their hands on it. The 12" will be available in all good record stores, and we'd be dead surprised if Othermusic.com and Piccadillyrecords.co.uk don't have it in stock. Other remixes are in the works.

We have a tiny UK tour coming up in early December. I'll get back to you when all details are definite.

OK, that's all for now,

Best wishes,
Revl9n & Manager Marcus

Dear Revl9n buffs,

We’re truly sorry for the long absence, but at last things are getting clearer (at least for us). We’ve signed Emmanuel Deburetel’s Because (same label that host the truly great Amadou & Mariam). There will be releases and tours and all that this autumn. Wish us luck.

We’ve got on gig this weekend. Gagnef (Sweden). Not much info on their www.skankaloss.com but according to everyone who has been there it’s great fun.

You will hear more from us in the future.

Best wishes,
Marcus & Revl9n

Dear friends of Revl9n

Tomorrow and a couple of days forward we will play Denmark

9/2 - Templet, Lyngby
10/2 - Rust, Copenhagen
11/2 - Voxhall, Århus
12/2 Studenterhuset, Ålborg

Supporting Swedish avant pop group First Floor Power

Finally our album - "Muscles" - is ready for release

We just have to speak with a couple of big wigs before it sees the light of day.

The video for "United", directed by Åsa (one third of the band), will soon start running on Swedish ZTV and on Scandinavian MTV. And hopefully on other channels, near you, as well.

The video a killer

Best wishes,

Dear all,

First of all sorry for the long absence. I hope you're all good...

OK, let's get into the news...

Revl9n have just finished the music video for "Walking Machine". It's directed by Maria Eilersen (one third of the band) - who also lead the way in the film. Expect to see that one soon.

All copies of "Walking Machine" are nearly gone now. At least the CD's are, there are some boxes of the 7" left. Let me know if you need any.

Revl9n's debut album is nearly finished now and we're dead close to our second single release. It's a killer call "United". This one, plus the rest of the album, is mixed by dandy Christian Edgren at Traxton Recording. The CD and the 7" will be released by the band's own label Crushed By Heart and copies will be distributed by Triage and some by my mail order. Just let me know how many you need and I'll put them in the post box right away. Oh, I almost forgot, "United" has a sensational remix by techno heroes Engine One and is - yet again - strictly limited to 400 7" and 400 CDs.

On October the 13th Revl9n will hold the release party on Stockholm . It's at Halv trappa (if you happen to be around just let us know and I'll direct you to the place). The band will perform a couple of songs and Playboy-Marse will deejay. From 8 pm till after midnight.

On the 14th (October) Revl9n play Gump (Jazzhuset) in Gothenburg ( Sweden ) Club info: http://www.doloresrecordings.com/gump.htm
On the 15th (October) Revl9n play Blekingska Nationen in Lund ( Sweden ) Club info: http://www.blekingska.com/
On the 16ht (October) Revl9n play Rust in Copenhagen Club info: http://www.rust.dk/

More to come. Later.

Best wishes,

Marcus Törncrantz (manager of Revl9n)

PS Revl9n's "Walking Machine" did get weeks of daily airplay on National Radio here. Without any promotion. Without any mammoth record label, nor big wig publishers, or any other involvement by the business... Yes, I am proud... Hope to see you all soon. Take care now.

Dear all,

It's been a while. We've been busy finishing our debut album. After months we're finally ready to present…

The first single release from Revl9n's coming album. It's a track called "Walking Machine" and it'll be released as a CD (on Crushed By Heart) and a 7" vinyl (on Törncrantz rock'n'roll). The A-side is mixed and produced by the mighty Peter Wade. And the B-side contains a N.D.S. mix. "Walking Machine" will be available in all good record shops from the 15th of June (or slightly earlier if you're lucky). The CD and 7" are limited to 400 copies each.

If you happen to be a record store or a label, just let me know how many copies you need and I'll post them spot on.

On the 3rd of June Revl9n will hold a "Walking Machine" release party at Riche (Lilla baren) in Stockholm . From 20.00 till 02.00 Revl9n and I will DJ our current faves and you're all invited. Riche is located at Birger Jarlsgatan 4 in Stockholm.

The US tour back in October went dandy. Big hugs to Duane, Jason, Eric, Lisa and yeah all you good people out there.

There is a shoot from our Mighty Robot gig at http://punkcast.com/352/

Revl9n's "Someone Like You" EP is #23 on Other Music's Top Selling chart for 2003. I don't know if it is the fact that it was released in 2001 or that we're ahead of Radiohead in the charts that pleases me most.

OK, that's all for now.

Best wishes,

Marcus Törncrantz and Revl9n

There are some pics from the show at: www.rockphoto.dk/arband.html

We're mixing the album right now. A number of releases are due to follow, starting with a single. I'll get back when things are more definitive.

Hi there,

The band is recording in my studio right now. We don't know when something from these sessions will reach the record shops. And we haven't decided who'll release it. As their manager I ought to say something like "without a Fisherspooner load of advance I think we'd better do it by ourselves". Ha-ha. Maybe.

We are very proud to tell that we will play Roskilde this summer. It's the most important festival in Scandinavia – Roskilde Festival. According to their web site the band sounds like a cross between Sonic Youth, Suicide and wee like the Cardigans. Uh, that's uh… Anyroads – for you who understand Danish – here it goes:

Well, well… Revl9n will play the Camping stage on the 25th of June. www.roskildefestival.dk

Apart from that we are about to slightly change our moniker. It's understandable that REVLON – the company – isn't too happy to hear that we've hijacked their name (their lawyers sent us faxes). Nothing's confirmed yet but I'll put my money on "REVL9N" as they probably can't sue our gaffas off on that.

And yes! Of course… The US tour went fine. Crowded, hyped (not too much though) and friendly. We did two radio sessions. One for Serious Satellite Radio and the other for WFMU.

Nearly all copies of "Someone Like You" 10" are sold out – only one 20 records box left. And we've decided not to sell more than 50 copies of the CD-R. So if you haven't laid your hands on this release you'd better hurry on.

More to follow.

Wish us luck,

/ Marcus & Revl9n / Revlon 9

Sat March 29: NEW YORK ( USA ). Femme Fatale at Pianos. With The Rogers Sisters, Mommy + Daddy.

Quite thrillingly … Revlon 9's "Someone Like you" 10" & cd-r became the second most sold record at Other Music in New York last week.

Revlon 9's "Naked" is being used in a theatre play in Stockholm at the moment. The play is called "Flickan på Henriksdalsberget" and it's quite good, to tell you the truth. www.stadsteatern.se

There is a quite uplifting review of Revlon 9 here: http://www.musicspork.com/revlon.html

I would like to send some big kisses to Lisa Garrett who has been booking us such a large amount of shows.

See you soon,

Marcus & Revlon 9

10 January, 2003

Dear all,

Welcome to the first Revlon 9 newsletter.

Revlon 9's own label, Crushed By Heart, plus my label, Torncrantz rock'n'roll, will release a 10" vinyl with "Someone Like You," "Closer," This Is All This Is It" and "The Seventh Seal" on the first of February. It's a re-mastered version of the cd-r that we've been selling at the Rough Trade Shop, London , UK , and Other Music in New York , USA . This 10" record is a 500 copies release and will be sold, firstly at the aforementioned shops plus at C.D. Esoterik in Montreal, Canada and at Pet Sounds, Stockholm, Sweden and via my merchandise – bobhund@algonet.se . There is also a tiny stock of Revlon 9 T-shirts available.

We have a gig in Gothenburg , Sweden , on the 15th of March. More info can be found at www.idealrecordings.com/idealfestival

We're hoping to do more gigs in Sweden from the 3rd of March to the 16th and, hopefully, going abroad later. More of that when things are booked.

There is not much else to tell today. We're still looking for the most suitable record company to collaborate with. And the band is doing demos right now.

Several staff members at Other Music had us high on their best of 2002 list. Try this link for more info.

OK, that was all, that was it.

Take care,

Marcus & Revlon 9
